Fire & Ice

Not a beauty treatment — a results-driven clinical facial, exclusively available at medically led clinics. Known as the red carpet facial.

About this treatment

Meet your new favourite facial, exclusively available at medically led clinics. It's not a beauty treatment — it's a results-driven clinical facial.

At The Private Clinic Swansea we are proud to offer this luxury facial to patients looking to really take care of their skin and see real changes. Known as the red carpet facial amongst the famous, it's one of our most popular treatments.

The treatment works in two phases. First a five-minute intensive resurfacing masque — a warming blend of glycolic, lactic, citric and malic acids with vitamin B3, retinol and antioxidants — lifts dull surface cells and encourages cellular renewal. Then a cooling, soothing masque of hyaluronic acid, Japanese green tea, aloe vera, liquorice and grape seed extracts rehydrates and calms the skin.

It resurfaces, softens fine lines, refines texture and pores and leaves an immediate glow, with no downtime — which is why it is such a popular choice in the days before a wedding, event or shoot. It is suitable for all skin types, and we will confirm it is right for you at your appointment.

Questions, answered

Frequently asked questions.

How long does the Fire & Ice facial take? +
The treatment takes between 30 and 45 minutes — a five-minute intensive resurfacing masque, followed by the cooling, hydrating masque.
Does the Fire & Ice facial hurt? +
No. The resurfacing masque creates a distinct warmth and tingling that builds and then eases, and most patients find it entirely manageable. The cooling masque soothes the skin immediately afterwards.
Is there any downtime? +
None. A few patients experience mild redness afterwards. We ask you to use a mild, non-abrasive cleanser for five days following the treatment, wear sunscreen and avoid prolonged or direct sun exposure.
How often can I have it? +
It takes the skin around four weeks on average to complete a full cycle of cell growth and exfoliation, so the facial can be repeated as often as every four weeks. We would suggest a minimum of four times a year to maintain the results.
Is there anything I should avoid beforehand? +
Yes. Please pause retinol and glycolic acid products for one week before and one week after your treatment. If you have taken Roaccutane, you will need to have stopped at least six months beforehand. We will go through your skincare and medical history with you.
